How rude is it to apply lipstick and lightly powder one's nose in public, if this is considered rude at all?

I personally do not think it is rude, as long as you're not at the table. My friends have differing opinions. What do you think? How rude is it to apply lipstick and lightly powder one's nose in public, if this is considered rude at all?
It's okay to lightly dab on lipstick(not using a lip brush)in public, but powder and other makeup should be taken to the restroom. How rude is it to apply lipstick and lightly powder one's nose in public, if this is considered rude at all?
I think it depends on where you live. I happen to live in the kick-back land of California where we don't even understand manners. Nevertheless... we also live in a state of cars. Do not put on your makeup while driving because it WILL incite road rage! Other than that... live and let live. So what if you put on lipstick in public... come on!!!
I think more than rude, its like a lack of hygene.

It really bugs me when people do that in public, its perfect in a restroom, but thats the place for it...!!!
not rude at all, unless by powder your nose you mean snort some blow. you probably shouldnt do that in public.
Go to the Powder Room.
its not rude at all. what is rude is looking like a skank because you put on to much makeup
when you are by your self

out of doors by yourself it is OK

when in doors in an informal setting by yourself

someplace like a fast food restaurant where kids run

around or in a mall it is OK.

someplace like a business office or higher priced restaurant

it is more polite to go into the restroom aka Powder room.

.

when with friends it is NEVER OK. for the same reason one does not talk on a cellphone while visiting with friends.

It means you are not really paying attention to them, which is a form of rudeness.
Good question. I think if you are discreet, it's OK, but I would never do it at a table while eating.
I don't consider this rude at all.
I agree with you 100%; as long as you are not at the table, it should be perfectly acceptable. I am sure there may be another instance/acception or two which I have overlooked along the way; but, I can't think of any at this writing.
i think its sexy to see a girl touch herself up its not like flossing or using a toothpick in public or the worst blowing your nose! as long as its not unappealing to see then their is nothing wrong with doing it in a public domain just like adjusting your collar or retying your shoes
