What's the difference among lipstick, femme, butch, dyke and other types of lesbians?

Lipstick- the girly girl that gets hair and nails done.

Femme- girly but not girly girl.

Butch- Flannels %26amp; a truck.

Dyke- thats not a nice word. What's the difference among lipstick, femme, butch, dyke and other types of lesbians?
Lesbians have the most labels going it truely is silly. We are all women. I can deal with femme or butch.. Like gay mne but why introduce other silly labels. My all time laugh a minute is inbetweenie and boi I mean WTF??? Give it a rest girls and just learn to love femininity and women in general. What's the difference among lipstick, femme, butch, dyke and other types of lesbians?
Nothing. They're all disgusting.
There are three main categories of lesbians:

1. Butch (AKA Dyke, masculine) These are the lesbians you see that look, dress and act much like men do.

2. In between (AKA Tomboyish) These are the lesbians who are slightly male acting and dressing, but still retains alot of feminine qualities.

3. Femme (AKA Lipstick, feminine) These are the lesbians that look, dress and act like women.

I'm sure if you want to split hairs here, we could categorize even further. But end the end does it REALLY matter that much?
your answer from girlish impulses says it best!!!!
The political correct answer would be:

there IS no difference: they're all labels!

:-)
They're just stereotypes. Not all lesbians like or identify with a category.

Lipstick and femme lesbians are more feminine in general, possibly more submissive.

Butch lesbians are usually more masculine acting or dressing; may be more dominant in a relationship.
well...i think ';dyke'; is a no no...
